Paint a New World

I'll bet you were all expecting more Okami fan art at any time lol

anyway, so I've been in kind of a painting mood lately, more specifically watercolor, and I just kind of thought Okami was a good subject for a quick water color painting, of course I have a couple others (part of a series) done, but they are much much larger that this one was, and I'm just too lazy to try and scan them peice by peice, then slap em together in ps

any way, little info about this painting: I just kind of pictured Amaterasu deciding to make a new world, and I thought how would she start? I decided that the background would be white (since I have no yellow tinted watercolor paper) and that it would just be Ammy with one of her weapons (decided to do divine retribution, because I felt like painting fire, and because I wanted a good representation of the sun). And that Ammy would just sit down to contemplate where to start, and when her ink dipped tail hit the white canvas and dripped, it began to form into a tree and the earth itself, then Ammy looks back and sees it. She's like, hmmmm do I start over or do I keep going? lol

hope it looks ok, water color isn't my best media, when I paint I usually use Acrylics (which are much more forgiving than watercolors lol) Also, the reason why it is alot darker in some places is because I have misplaced my good pens (sharpie pens) (this was outlined in pen, then painted with crayola watercolor paint) and I used my sketching pen instead, and turns out that it wasn't water resistant at all, so it ran a bit, particularly around the ears and bottom areas
I have to get some more Sharpie pens for the next one
